It was confirmed yesterday that Casey DeSmith is the goaltender Kent Hughes is currently trying to trade. However, we had no further details on other teams' interest in him.

According to Incarcerated Bob, it won't happen until training camp begins.

If you're wondering who that is, consider that he was the first to link Martin St-Louis to the Habs and the Hurricanes' offer sheet to Jesperi Kotkaniemi. So he's got good sources.

"Pretty quiet around the NHL until next month, the Canadiens are still actively shopping around Casey DeSmith.

They could keep him and wait until an NHL injury occurs at training camp or at the start of the regular season."

So, despite Kent Hughes' best efforts, the buzz isn't very strong right now, and that's not surprising. Teams start to get very full at this time of year.

However, injuries do happen, and that's when Hughes will be getting calls for the goalie.
