Today new reports from NHL insiders Chris Johnston and Jonas Siegel have now provided a list of ten potential targets for the Toronto Maple Leafs at the trade deadline.

With Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty suffering an injury and ending up on injured reserve earlier today the team is in desperate need of forward depth.

The need for another forward in the middle six has been apparent for much of the season after Max Domi and William Nylander failed to take hold of the second-line center spot.

Now with the NHL Trade Deadline approaching soon, reports are coming in regarding the Maple Leafs' plans to potentially add a forward.

With center being such a position of need for the Maple Leafs insiders Chris Johnston and Jonas Siegel came together to make a comprehensive top-ten list of potential additions at that position.

NHL Insiders Reveal the Maple Leafs' Top 10 Center Targets on the Trade Market

Siegel and Johnston of The Athletic joined forces to create a list of ten centers who could fit into the middle of the Maple Leafs lineup and take some pressure off of John Tavares.

Some names will be well recognized by Maple Leafs fans such as Ryan O'Reilly and Nazem Kadri both former Leafs while others present a new and exciting option.

At many points throughout this season, the Maple Leafs have been connected to a lot of the names on this list but have yet to get close to completing a deal for a center.

Of the players who are not former Toronto Maple Leafs names like Brock Nelson, Charlie, Coyle, and Trent Frederic likely bring the most potential for upside in this season and beyond as a trade asset.

The duo also decided to add a few honorable mentions that are either a lower tier in ability level or less likely to be candidates to be traded at the deadline for various reasons.

Honourable mentions: Jake Evans, Michael McCarron, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Alex Wennberg Honourable mentions: Jake Evans, Michael McCarron, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Alex Wennberg

While this report from Siegel and Johnston does not indicate who the favorites are from the Maple Leafs perspective it shows that there are plenty of options on the market for the team to be able to upgrade.

As the trade deadline inches closer it will be interesting to see who Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs prioritize in their pursuit of an upgrade.
