Wow. Keith Tkachuk has never been afraid to speak his mind. And this time it's about the Florida Panthers, with whom his son Matthew has been playing since this year. Here's what he had to say. It's do or die for the Panthers right now. I'm disappointed in the Panthers. They are a 'soft' team and they are getting everything they deserve right now. They should be much better than what they are showing right now. - Keith Tkachuk And then he sent another tip to the Panthers when talking about the Senators. Every time I go to Ottawa, they may not be the most talented team, but they're always going to play hard. Maybe Florida should take a page out of their book. - Keith Tkachuk

The Tkachuk family is certainly one that is known for always leaving it all on the ice. Yes, they are great hockey players, but they also work very hard. And it hasn't been long since the Panthers have been called soft. In fact, that's one of the reasons they went out and got Tkachuk. But one player isn't always enough to change a culture. Players who have been playing a certain way for years at Florida won't necessarily start going nose to the grindstone overnight, just because Matthew Tkachuk is now part of the organization. It's a step in the right direction for sure. And Keith Tkachuk is right. The Panthers, on paper, have a great team. Much better than the Ottawa Senators, for example, where Keith's other son Brady plays. Yet, there are only two small points separating the two teams in the standings, with less than 10 games left in the season.
