This past summer was a whirlwind for NHL player movement, and perhaps the most exciting move of all was the LA Kings landing Pierre-Luc Dubois in a blockbuster trade from the Winnipeg Jets.
A rough start in LA for Dubois

While many believed the Kings were getting a star in Dubois, the results haven't shown that at all, as he has tallied just 16 points in 37 games thus far, with many Kings fans disappointed with the return. Now, things have gotten much, much worse, as the latest update in the story of PLD in LA is that he has been demoted to 4C, something that no one expected when the trade went down. Not to panic anyone, but Lizotte looks to be LAK 3C, Dubois 4C to start game.

Winnipeg Jets come out big winners in the trade
As for the Jets, they essentially flipped Patrik Laine for PLD, then flipped him to LA for Alex Iafallo, Gabe Villardi, Rasmus Kupari and a 2024 second-round draft pick. It may be less than a season since the trade, but with the Jets using two of those players in their top-six and sitting atop the NHL standings, it's hard to argue that they come out massive winners in this trade.
