Michel Therrien was Alex Galchenyuk's first NHL head coach.

He coached him for five seasons, so he's in a great position to know why a promising player like the third overall pick in 2012 doesn't pan out.

During today's show on "The Blue Pocket at Noon", he dropped a huge piece of information about the former CH number 27, which pretty much confirms some of the rumours about him at the time.

The former NHL coach admitted right away that he always liked his former colt, but that there were many external factors that particularly hurt him.

He's a little guy that I really liked, he had a great progression with us.

The thing I wish for him is that he cleaned up his personal life," he mentioned intriguingly. If he's been able to do that, he's a guy who should be playing in the National League." - Michel Therrien

We are easily able to make an easy connection to his family, who were intensely involved in the young man's life. His family lived on their son's dime, and many times we heard rumours that his father railed heavily in Alex's life about hockey.

The former Canadiens' driver adds that when he first arrived with the club, he thought it was a good idea to have his family support him in Montreal. He now admits that this may have been what caused his setbacks.

When he first came to us, I was very happy that his family was supporting him. Looking back, I'm not sure it was the right deal." - Michel Therrien

Indeed, unfortunately for the Habs, but more importantly for Chucky, his parents have totally damaged his NHL career.
