The Toronto Maple Leafs' season is officially in jeopardy. After a slow but decent start, the team's record has now fallen to 5-4-2 and they've lost four straight. Now they are down 4-3 to the Lightning late in the second period. Reportedly, the team held a meeting after their loss to the Bruins and everyone was honest with themselves.

NHL Insider Reveals What Was Said At Leafs Team Meeting

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman dropped a bombshell of a report about the Toronto Maple Leafs today on 32 thoughts. According to him, the team called themselves out for being easy to 'push around.'

«I heard one of the things said in there, no one will confirm it, other teams know they can push us around»

Friedman: Soft Teams Do Not Win In The NHL

The insider noted that the Leafs do, in fact, seem to be a soft team. He even went so far as to say that those kinds of team typically do not win in the NHL. This is particularly notable with the Leafs as they have had almost no playoff success whatsoever in recent years despite strong regular season performances. Of course it only becomes harder to win in the playoffs, so perhaps that is when the softness gets exposed the most.

Regardless, the Leafs need to figure things out quickly. Joseph Woll is not going to bail them out all season. Even when their star players perform well the team loses. Something in Toronto has to give.
