The Edmonton Oilers lost yet another high scoring battle against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday, and on Tuesday, it became clear that the team were ready for some big time changes.

The Oilers waived Jack Campbell after another poor outing

After posting a 4.50 GAA and an .873 save percentage in five starts this season, the Oilers finally waived Jack Campbell after handing him a deal worth $5 million AAV last summer.

Unfortunately for them, Stuart Skinner hasn't been much better, and if the team want to be a genuine contender this season or even a playoff team, it's clear that they need a much bigger change.

An intriguing trade proposition with the Boston Bruins

After all of the drama, ESPN's John Buccigross took to social media after the Oilers fell to 2-8-1 on the season with this intriguing blockbuster deal with the Boston Bruins.

Ryan, would you trade Draisaitl and Foegele for...last years Vezina winner, DeBrusk, Poitras, Lysell and a 2026 1st rounder? The Central Registry would approved this proposed trade for cap and roster implications.

Obviously trading away Leon Draisaitl isn't the ideal way for the Oilers to move forward, but with so many holes on this team, it's tough to upgrade on the blue line or in net without moving him, and if Boston likes a trade similar to this, it's not a completely bad idea for either team.
