The Toronto Maple Leafs might be in the market for a new head coach. According to Frank Seravalli over at Daily Faceoff, they've got their sights set on Craig Berube, the guy who led the St. Louis Blues to a Stanley Cup victory back in 2019. But here's the kicker: Berube might not be available for long. The Leafs had their management media day pushed back from Thursday to Friday, and that's got everyone talking. Seravalli seems convinced that a coaching change is on the horizon, but snagging Berube might be a bit of a stretch.

I'm just not convinced he's going to be on the market long enough to get to Toronto. The New Jersey Devils have their eye on Berube, too, and they might swoop in before the Leafs have a chance. So, what happens if the Leafs miss out on their top pick? Will they still fire Sheldon Keefe to shake things up behind the bench? Well, there are plenty of other experienced coaches out there, like Todd McLellan and Gerard Gallant, who could step in. Yet Sheldon Keefe's days as the Leafs' head coach seem to be numbered, whether Berube ends up in Toronto or not. Stay tuned Toronto fans.
