The Jets have been shopping their star centreman Mark Scheifele this off season, and now it appears they may have a new trading partner in the Winnipeg Jets.

Rumours have emerged that the Jets and the Rangers could be working on a deal that includes Mark Scheifele as well as Ville Heinola, and would see Filip Chytil, along with defenseman Braden Schneider sent in return to the Jets.

Many are skeptical about a trade that includes Braden Schneider from the Rangers, as they were hesitant to move him earlier this off-season. Some argue he is instrumental to the Rangers' future and their rebuild as a team.

However, the Rangers are also desperate for depth down the middle, and Mark Scheifele would provide some much-needed power at the position. New York could also give him the new start that he is desperately looking for after his time in Winnipeg.

As training camp approaches, there might be a new sense of urgency from the clubs to get a deal done before the season starts that might see them more willing to get rid of their star players.
