Sean Monahan-style trade proposal for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens

Last summer, following the official announcement that Carey Price would not play in the 2022-23 season, Kent Hughes wasted no time and made a deal with the Calgary Flames to bring Sean Monahan to Montreal.

Not only was Monahan pretty productive while healthy, the Habs got a first round pick as well. A deal that is totally to the Tricolore's advantage, under the circumstances.

Now Kent Hughes could do it again, but this time with the Vancouver Canucks. It seems that their number one priority this summer is to get rid of Conor Garland's contract.

Able to score 50 points or more in the NHL, Garland has a contract of 4.95 million for three more seasons. The remaining time on his contract could raise the stakes, allowing Kent Hughes to possibly get more than a first round pick in return, as well as giving only future considerations.
