It appears that Shane Wright won't be part of Canada's roster for the 2024 World Junior Hockey Championship.

Francis has expressed doubts about the 19-year-old forward's participation in the tournament, despite his eligibility.

In a recent press conference, he said:

"I've already had discussions with Hockey Canada about that, so they kind of know where I stand. For me, he's kind of been there, done that, so I don't see him being part of the World Juniors this year. He's actually up with us now."

Wright served as the captain for Team Canada last year in Halifax, which was probably his final appearance in a Junior Tournament.
