The Edmonton Oilers made some solid moves this summer, and one thing they utilized well was the PTO, one of which they used on Sam Gagner, and now, the veteran forward remains with the organization.
A veteran, depth move

Despite not making the NHL roster out of training camp, Gagner clearly liked what he saw in Edmonton, as he has now officially inked a deal with their AHL team, the Bakersfield Condors for this season. The Condors have signed winger Sam Gagner to an AHL deal. Whether or not he makes the NHL roster, only time will tell, but for now, the story of a solid veteran continues, and with the way the Oilers have performed early in the season, there's definitely a chance he can make this team in 2023-24.
