While appearing on BPM Sports this morning on Jean-Charles Lajoie's show, Quebec Remparts general manager and head coach Patrick Roy launched a solid, not-so-subtle shot at Carey Price during his interview.

While talking about his retirement, the legendary number 33 mentioned that he decided to retire in 2003, with $8.5M left on his contract, instead of staying on the long-term injured list.

"I'd rather retire, than say: my leg hurts, pay up!"

Obviously, without having to name names, Roy pointed to a situation that has become as problematic as it is incomprehensible, seeing players who continue to cash checks annually, when they are clearly no longer able to play in the NHL.

You can see here the Carey Price and Shea Weber of this world.

Let's just say that the latter and his usual outspokenness make an important point about a trend that seems to be gaining momentum in today's National League.
