A new report has linked Toronto Maple Leafs star Forward William Nylander to the west coast.
Nylander Being Rumored To Western Conference
A new report has linked William Nylander to the Western Conference, but will be sure to raise some eyebrows. According to the well-known rumor mill that is Eklund of HockeyBuzz, the newest gossip he's claimed is that the Anaheim Ducks have been given permission to speak to Nylander's agent about a possible signing. It's unclear if speaking to agents in-season is a tampering violation, although Eklund alleges the Ducks are permitted to speak on Nylander, as negotiations before free agency are not allowed, either there's questions over accuracy or over allowance. Nylander would fit the fact that Anaheim is looking for a star winger to add to their deep depth of young talent, including Trevor Zegras, Leo Carlsson & Mason McTavish & Pavel Mintyukov, as well as veterans Frank Vatrano & Cam Fowler. However, the idea that Anaheim is already on the hunt seems a bit unlikely given the fact the season is underway. Unfortunately, Eklund did not provide his usual E rating system for how hot the rumor is, so we won't how deep these reported talks are. Nylander, still currently as it stands a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, has affirmed in past comments his desire and happiness to stay in Toronto, and has stated his signing delay is focusing on the season, although money surely comes into play with fellow Leafs stars Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner & William Nylander among the highest-paid players in the league. This season, Nylander has 16 Goals, 30 Assists & 46 Points in just 32 Games for Toronto this season, on pace to break his career high of 87 Points set last season as he enters the UFA market at the end of the year.
