The Boston Bruins hosted a team skate today ahead of their match vs the surging and 1st place Vancouver Canucks and had no sign of their captain. Fans of the team are concerned for his health after last game's incident.
Brad Marchand absent from team practice
Marchand was not among the players at today's morning skate, and the practice wasn't «optional». There is growing concern that he may be injured after his altercation with Flames rookie Martin Pospisil. During the second period, there was a scrum that broke out because of Brad Marchand being Brad Marchand. Marchand poked Jacob Markstrom after the whistle which caused Flames forward Pospisil to attack Brad Marchand with a vicious hit. There's people who think he may be absent from practice because of that very moment.

It's not the best time for the Bruins to lose their captain, in fact it's never a good time. Not only is he ridiculously skilled as a forward but he provides so much leadership for the younger guys and everyone involved in the organization. The bruins have already lost their rookie Martin Poitras for the next months due to injury and can't afford to lose someone of a high calibre like Marchand. We will see how things play out and if he will suit up tonight vs the Vancouver Canucks.
