Sportsnet has had to make the unfortunate decision of letting one of its analysts go, after an incident was reported at the NHL entry draft in June. <q>Details are scarce but multiple sources tell me that for unconfirmed draft reasons, Jeff Marek will likely be no longer performing duties at Sportnet hockey. Details to follow. This would appear to include his podcast duties too.</q> <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/yyzsportsmedia/status/1816478548078862721'> </a></blockquote></div> Marek was one of the most important analysts for the network, so <a href='https://www.nyrangersinsider.com/nhl/news/sportsnets-reportedly-parting-ways-with-biggest-nhl-insider-after-12-years' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>barely providing any reasoning for his firing</a> won't sit well with many of his listeners. Fans were in a frenzy recently when Marek was nowhere to be heard or seen following the draft. Unfortunately, it now appears his days with Sportsnet are over. The firing of Marek is a major loss for Rogers Sportsnet. He was a top member of their broadcast team that generated very high ratings. Fans are outraged at his firing and didn't hesitate to voice their support for him and displeasure at Sportsnet. <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/mikeinboston/status/1816487845474836760'> </a></blockquote></div> <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/Hockey_Robinson/status/1816493176536064095'> </a></blockquote></div> <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/Banx_Leaf/status/1816495377769463904'> </a></blockquote></div> Marek was a really good one, truly a stand up down to Earth guy. Whenever details of what exactly took place at the draft are revealed, I'm sure he will have a lot of support behind him.
