Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer had a surprising outburst of violence during the game against the Predators, laying out Jason Zucker in front of his net.

Kraken Goaltender Lays Body on Predators Player Skating in Front of His Net

It's not every day you get to see NHL goaltenders get physical during games, but those are some of the more electric moments in hockey. While last night didn't result in a goalie fight, goaltender Philipp Grubauer did get physical with Nashville Predators' Jason Zucker.

During a play, Grubauer laid the body on Zucker as he skated through his crease on a forecheck. While it is hard to determine what provoked the incident, clearly Grubauer was upset about something. Take a look.

Philipp Grubauer??

That wasn't very gentlemanly...

The physical hit sent Zucker flat to the ice and likely didn't need to happen. It probably caught Zucker off guard, which is why he went to the ice so easily.

Kraken and Grubauer Slowly Falling Out of Contention

The frustration could have stemmed from the fact that the Kraken are slowly falling out of contention for the postseason, and their season seems to be slipping away down the stretch. They currently sit well outside of a playoff spot, and Grubauer has been just mediocre. The 4-1 loss last night may have been the nail in the coffin.
