It is with saddened hearts that we inform you of the passing of a 12th grade student. He experienced a sudden medical event during a varsity ice hockey game last night and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. It is heartbreaking to report that he did not survive. Connor Kasin was a senior at Massapequa High School with dreams of playing hockey beyond high school in the NCAA. In hopes of being recruited Connor Kasin put together a paragraph detailing his game and what he hoped to bring to a college program. My name is Connor Kasin and I have been playing Ice Hockey since the age of four. I am an active, social, and encouraging teammate both on and off of the ice. I like to see my self as an active player in the way that I play both with and without the puck. Some things that would make me a good team candidate are my academic ability, leadership qualities, athletic performance, and my character. I can be seen as an overall defensive defenseman when it comes to my style of play. My goals are to get into a great college that provides me with both excellent coaching and education. We send our deepest condolences to the Kasin family, Connor's friends and teammates, and the entire Massapequa community as they continue to mourn such an unimaginable loss.
