The New Jersey Devils have not lived up to expectations this year. Now they will have to compete without one of their most underrated players as Michael McLeod is facing charges as part of the 2018 Hockey Canada scandal. Now fans are upset at him for another reason.

Devils Forward Faces Backlash For Posting Vacation Picture While Awaiting Trial

The Former Devils forward posted a picture of him being on vacation with his girlfriend on social media yesterday. The post sparked outrage as fans online tore into him for being so nonchalant about his current situation.

Needless to say, people were not thrilled to see the former forward relaxing by the pool when he should be preparing for a legal battle. That being said, it has been reported that the case likely will not see trial until 2026, but that should not prevent the players being charged from being more modest about their positions right now. At the very least, they could stand to not share their lives on social media.

**** michael mcleod and **** his girlfriend too idc that's so disgusting

This is especially troubling for McLeod, considering the fact that he is the sole player facing multiple charges for his role in the 2018 events.

McLeod Facing Second Charge In 2018 Hockey Canada Scandal

London police revealed in a press conference last Monday that the former Devils forward is facing two charges of sexual assault while the other four players are all facing just a single charge. The second charge given to McLeod is for "aiding," but the police could not further elaborate on what exactly that means.

Second charge for Michael McLeod is for "aiding", which cannot be described further by London Police.

They did add, however, that he somehow "aided someone else" in the event. This does not give a much clearer picture of what the charge is for, but it is a touch more specific.

London Police cannot give details, but the additional charge for Michael McLeod is for "aiding someone else" in the offense

McLeod had just 10 goals and 19 points this season, but his underlying metrics were among the best in the league. He will surely be hard to replace for the Devils, who have not exceeded expectations this year. Stay tuned for more updates on McLeod as the legal process continues and on the Devils as they attempt to make the playoffs.
