This afternoon a trade has been completed between the Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Islanders that will impact the upcoming NHL Draft. Today it was announced that the Chicago Blackhawks are trading up in the NHL Draft. The timing of this trade could indicate a bigger move on the horizon for either team. The Blackhawks and GM Kyle Davidson could be moving up to get closer to the front where they can move up again on draft day. While the Islanders could be gaining extra assets in the second round to make a trade of some kind themselves. As the NHL Draft draws closer it will be interesting to see what these moves amount to at the end of the 2024 NHL Draft.
