#Isles News: The New York Islanders have acquired a first-round pick (#20) and two second-round picks (#54 and #61) in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks, in exchange for the team's first-round pick (#18) and second-round pick (#50).

A trade like this usually happens on draft day as a team covets a certain player. The timing of this trade could indicate a bigger move on the horizon for either team.

The Blackhawks and GM Kyle Davidson could be moving up to get closer to the front where they can move up again on draft day. While the Islanders could be gaining extra assets in the second round to make a trade of some kind themselves.

As the NHL Draft draws closer it will be interesting to see what these moves amount to at the end of the 2024 NHL Draft.
