As soon as he took the helm of the Canadiens, Martin St-Louis put the natural duo of Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki back together. It worked instantly, but finding a partner for them is more complex. In the end, it was Kirby Dach who best answered the call in this role. However, with what we saw of Dach at center last year, it's understandable that St-Louis would want to leave him in his natural position. So the coach comes to the same conclusion: he needs to find a partner for Caufield and Suzuki. According to Arpon Basu of The Athletic, Alex Newhook will certainly get his chance. I really believe he'll get his chance (to play with Suzuki and Caufield) during the preparatory schedule. - Arpon Basu Personally, I don't hate the idea. However, I have to admit that the lack of weight on this trio bugs me a little. Still, I can't wait to see if a chemistry can develop between the three.

Canadiens mailbag part one, on expectations for Slaf, managing the prospect pool and more.
