It's not always easy to be the partner of a professional athlete, and no doubt JT Miller's wife has had a lot to deal with lately, and she sent an important message.

At the start of February, JT Miller was traded to the Rangers, bringing an end to a long-standing ordeal between him and the Canucks organization.

A poor ending for Miller's Canucks career, but it seemed that he, his fellow players, and the organization still shared a healthy level of consideration and respect for each other.

The exit from Vancouver was an emotional one for all, with Miller having played six years in the city in an attempt to win a championship for the city.

The message rang loud and clear today when his wife, Natalie, posted an emotional social post, saying goodbye to the city and thanking the fan base for everything.

JT Miller's wife Natalie issues a very touching goodbye to Canucks fans

Posting to her Instagram, she discussed what the city represented for her family, about how it's where they started out together, and about the community and the Canucks followers being welcoming and warm towards them.

"Thank you for every message. We are so grateful for the support and love and will hold onto our time here really close to our hearts."

Although Miller's Canucks career finished in poor form, it's clear that he and his family will have a lasting fondness for life in Vancouver.

Raising our babies, trying new food, exploring and being in Roger arena will forever be some of our favorite memories

The next occasion that he comes in as a visitor, it will be interesting to see whether the fan base receives him with welcoming arms, or whether he is received with a less warm one.
