On the ice, Arber Xhekaj is a real tough guy. He never spares any effort and never hesitates to defend his teammates. Off the ice, he's just the opposite. This young man has a heart as big as his arm, and he shows it at every opportunity. With his first NHL paycheque, he bought his parents new electronics because he knew they wouldn't take any money. He's involved in a number of causes, including The Angel Project, which aims to help people who are sick and lonely. Recently, Arber made a point of thanking someone else in particular who has helped him on his journey. We're talking about a former teacher. To Ms. Verma, I wanted to thank you for always bringing positive energy to your students. You're a really special person who genuinely cares about each and every one of her students and that's what I love about you. You are the best teacher ever! Love.

How small gestures like this can have a much bigger impact in the end!
