Jeff Skinner achieves crazy milestone by playing in his 1000th game

Tonight Jeff Skinner will play in his 1000th game in the NHL. Simultaneously he will join an elusive club belonging just to him. He will become the first player in NHL history to play 1000 games but not make the playoffs.

Tonight will be a huge night for Jeff Skinner and his impressive NHL career. Tonight he officially plays in his 1000th game in the league. While most times this accomplishment can only be looked at positively that is not the case for Jeff Skinner.

A negative light has been placed on Jeff Skinner's accomplishment for one wild fact. In his 1000 games played Jeff Skinner has never made the playoffs.





He now becomes the only player in the history of the NHL to be in the 1000 games club without playing a playoff game. During his career, Jeff Skinner has played for the Carolina Hurricanes and Buffalo Sabres.

In his tenure with the Hurricanes, he was successful individually but Carolina as a team did not find success until he departed. Jeff Skinner was eventually traded to the Buffalo Sabres. Then of course he has been part of the Buffalo Sabres longest playoff drought in the NHL. Many people are now using this fact to downplay the accomplishments of Jeff Skinner's career.

Regardless of fans' thoughts Jeff Skinner will be playing in game number 1000 and get to celebrate that. We congratulate Jeff Skinner on this great accomplishment as the Buffalo Sabres take on the Washington Capitals.
