The Buffalo Sabres are off to another rough start to begin the season and frustration has already begun to build as two teammates needed to be separated after a fight.

The Buffalo Sabres have been known as one of the worst and most dysfunctional organizations in the NHL over the last 15 years. After missing the playoffs again last season the Buffalo Sabres hired a familiar face former head coach Lindy Ruff. Through the first 4 games of his tenure, the Sabres have only pulled out one win against the Florida Panthers. Even still the Panthers were missing their top two stars Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk due to injury and illness.

Due to the lack of success once again major frustration is already starting. After the Sabres loss to the Los Angeles Kings earlier this week the Sabres players showed visible frustration. Forward Dylan Cozens shattered his stick several times as he left the ice after the loss.

Now just a few days later the frustration has reached a whole new level and the Sabres are taking it out on one another. Captain Rasmus Dahlin was seen fighting one of his teammates at practice today.

Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin fights his teammate at practice

Today the Buffalo Sabres had practice as they will not play a game until Wednesday. The practice seemed to be high-intensity with a lot of physicality. At one point defenseman Rasmus Dahlin laid a big hit on forward Peyton Krebs. Immediately the two came together and dropped the gloves and began fighting. Shortly after the fight started it was broken up by several Sabres players.

Rasmus Dahlin is a staple of this Buffalo team who was named captain this summer Peyton Krebs on the other hand is fighting for his place in the lineup. Throughout much of the offseason, Krebs was surrounded by trade rumors.

The replies from fans have been split. Some fans are wondering what Rasmus Dahlin could possibly be thinking by making such a dangerous hit in practice. Others see it as Rasmus Dahlin setting a tone for how things need to be going forward.

The Buffalo Sabres were expected to be a harder team to play against that was more physical under Lindy Ruff. So far this has been the case as the Sabres are near the top of the league in hits. The mentality seems to have leaked over into practice as well. According to Lindy Ruff from his post-practice press conference, he confirmed Rasmus Dahlin got hit earlier in practice and was looking to even things out.

Once Rasmus Dahlin and Peyton Krebs get an opportunity to speak to the media it will be interesting to see if they view these events the same way or have a different take.
