Tonight Connor McDavid shared his honest thoughts on Team Canada almost letting their ticket to the 4 Nations Face-Off Finals slip away.

After losing to the United States on Saturday Team Canada came into their last game against Finland needing a win to clinch their spot in the finals.

Canada came out of the gates flying and showed why they are one of the favorites to potentially win the entire tournament.

Goals from McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Brayden Point shot Canada out to a commanding lead and made it seem Canada would coast to the finals for a rematch with the United States.

After scoring a fourth goal it seemed nearly certain that Canda would lock things down and make the finals.

Things changed in the third period as Finland came storming back to come within one goal down 4-3.

With Canada on the ropes and on the verge of losing the game Sidney Crosby came up clutch and buried an insurance goal that would ultimately send Canada to the finals.

After the game, Edmonton Oilers captain and Team Canada superstar Connor McDavid opened up about the game and how Canada let their guard down leading to the Finland comeback.

Connor McDavid Calls Out Team Canada For Letting Up Too Early Against Finland

During his post-game remarks, McDavid was of course asked about the game overall but in particular the close call with Finland making their electric comeback.

McDavid admitted that things were closer than they would have liked and that they cannot take their foot off the gas going forward like they did today.

While McDavid and Canada will not be happy with their efforts today they are off to the finals and have a chance at revenge against the United States which is the ultimate goal.

Now both Canada and the United States will have a couple of days off for each side to get healthy and rested for what should be an incredible game between the two hockey powerhouses in the 4 Nations Face-Off Finals.
