Tonight reports are confirming that Edmonton Oilers superstar and captain Connor McDavid will be out for the rest of the game due to a lower-body injury. The Edmonton Oilers' nightmare beginning to their NHL season continues as tonight Connor McDavid has gotten injured. Throughout his career, Connor McDavid has been the unquestioned best player in the NHL and carried the team to the Stanley Cup Finals last season. Without him, a major portion of the Edmonton Oilers offensive production disappears. It has not been confirmed what Connor McDavid's exact injury is or how long he might miss. With Connor McDavid out of the lineup, even more pressure will be placed on Leon Draisaitl to take over as one of the best players in the NHL. Beyond that Corey Perry, Zach Hyman, and several other struggling forwards will need to find their game immediately to fill the massive gap that has now been left in the Edmonton Oilers lineup.
