This afternoon reports are coming in that the Edmonton Oilers have placed goalie Jack Campbell on waivers in order to buyout his contract.

The Edmonton Oilers signed Jack Campbell hoping he would be their savior at goaltender. Instead, he struggled mightily during his time in the NHL and was eventually sent to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors.

With NHL Free Agency approaching the Edmonton Oilers and new GM Jeff Jackson have decided to buyout the contract of Jack Campbell making him a free agent.

The #Oilers have placed goaltender Jack Campbell on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout.

With his struggles in Edmonton Jack Campbell now becomes a free agent looking for a place to resurrect his NHL career. This move will also provide the Oilers with proper salary cap space to find a replacement in goal to pair with Stuart Skinner.

As NHL Free Agency begins tomorrow we will continue to update the situation regarding the Edmonton Oilers future goaltenders.
