For years now, putting together a second-line has been an issue for the Edmonton Oilers, but now, they may have found a massive solution ahead of the 2024/25 season. The first line of the Edmonton Oilers has always been a dominant one with Connor McDavid, and last season, they found the perfect wing duo around him in Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman. That leaves the second line up in the air around Leon Draisaitl, but on their first day of training camp, they are reportedly trying out an intriguing duo that could be the answer they are looking for. »Also, for whatever it's worth: Skinner - Draisaitl - Arvidsson are skating together during skate.» - Tony Brad According to reports, they have paired him with their new free agent pairing of Victor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner, with one of those spots usually belonging to Evander Kane, who seemingly won't pass a physical and will likely head to the LTIR to begin next season. With Arvidsson and Skinner, Draisaitl will have two players more than capable of finishing plenty of goals, and with their elite level powerplay on top of that, their forward group is going to be even more dangerous in 2024/25. There's still time for them to figure out new lines over the coming weeks, with the likes of Matthew Savoie, Corey Perry, Connor Brown and others looking to find their role in the lineup, Kris Knobluach has plenty of options at his disposal, but on paper, this first choice may end up being his best one.
