Pictures from Connor McDavid's wedding have finally been released after weeks of silence from the new couple. Oilers captain and general NHL superstar Connor McDavid married his longtime girlfriend Lauren Kyle this July after he came tantalizingly close to his first ever Stanley Cup championship. Luckily, most things in life are more important than sports, so this major life accomplishment could give him a boost going into next season. Apparently, both McDavid and his new wife wanted to keep their wedding as private as possible, which meant no pictures. This is understandable as McDavid is among the biggest celebrities in Canada. It is generally impossible for him to be left alone when he is in public, so it makes sense that he would want to keep his private life as private as possible. It is a popular time of year for players to tie the knot, considering they have all offseason to get everything in order. After all, planning a wedding and honeymoon takes time, both in preparation, and in execution. Players can't just be leaving their teams for weeks in the middle of the season. Among other NHLers to get married in the past couple months are Michael Bunting, and Mitch Marner. McDavid is on the precipice of reaching a never-before seen level of play in the NHL. Over the past three seasons he has 408 points in 238 games played, including 140 goals. He is already up to 335 career goals and 982 career points in just 645 career games played. Imagine what he would have been like in the 80s! Could he reach even higher levels next season?
