The asking salary by both Oilers players has been revealed, and it is shocking to see how much lower it is compared to what the Blues have offer sheeted .

Elliotte Friedman hosts a show called 32 Thoughts the Podcast, and it was during that segment that he revealed the exact salary that Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway had asked for from the Edmonton Oilers.

It is said to believe that Dylan Holloway wanted either a one or two-year deal from the Oilers that would pay him around $1.2 million per year. He has just received an offer sheet from the Blues for $2.29 million AAV.

Philip Broberg on the other hand, had asked the Oilers for $1.8 million per year, and he has just received an absolutely massive $4.58 million offer sheet, a ridiculously high over payment by the St. Louis Blues.

Elliotte Friedman mentioned that the Oilers did try to sign both players during the season last year before Stan Bowman took over, however it appears that Philip Broberg outright refused to have any contract discussions while NHL games were going on and preferred to wait for the summer, to avoid a distraction.

The Oilers supposedly spoke to the Blues at the trade deadline as they had an interest in Pavel Buchnevich, but in return the Blues wanted Philip Broberg and/or Dylan Holloway, a move that the Oilers were not prepared to make.

We are in for a very interesting week ahead to see if Stan Bowman matches one or both offer sheets, or possibly none at all, but one thing's for sure, regardless of how this plays out, everyone will have their eyes peeled on the first match-up between these two teams next season.
