After many weeks and months of speculation, Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers have finally agreed to a long-term contract extension.

Oilers fans rejoice, superstar forward Leon Draisaitl is going to be staying in Edmonton for a very long time. There have been a lot of rumors and speculation over the last few months about what term and money Draisaitl would be getting, as most experts had him in at around seven or eight years, with an AAV of roughly $13 million.

It's now official, as Draisaitl has finally signed on the dotted lines according to Friedman.

Leon Draisaitl has always been an Edmonton Oiler since he made his debut during the 2015-16 season. In his nearly a decade with the team, he has scored a whopping 347 goals and added 503 assists in 719 NHL games. His playoff numbers are absolutely outstanding, where he's accumulated 108 points in only 74 games!
