Edmonton Oilers forward Ryan McLeod has struggled during the playoffs this has led to him now being benched in their most recent must-win Game 7 leaving his status for Game 1 in doubt.

The Edmonton Oilers had to come out with a win against the Vancouver Canucks to head to the Western Conference Finals. Midway through the third period the Edmonton Oilers looked to be on their way to a big win up 3-0 on the Vancouver Canucks but then Conor Garland scored for the Canucks.

The goal happened due to a careless turnover from Ryan McLeod. As a result of this turnover, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch decided to bench Ryan McLeod for the remainder of the game.

"And I look at the fact that the coach didn't play him another shift. That to me shows you it wasn't just a one off."

This turnover combined with the offensive struggles of Ryan McLeod who has yet to record a point in the playoffs led to a benching. Now the Edmonton Oilers and Kris Knoblauch have an important decision to make heading into the Western Conference Finals.

Can they trust Ryan McLeod to produce or will he need to be replaced?
