There's some surprising news about Philadelphia Flyers prospect, Alexei Kolosov. He saw Goaltender and fellow Flyers prospect Ivan Fedotov go straight to the NHL and get a big contract extension. Kolosov, a 2021 3rd round pick still hasn't signed anything yet is still considered a prospect with great potential but has to be treated the right way. Put yourself in Kolosov's shoes for a minute. You're ~5,000 miles from home in a different country where you can't speak the native language or communicate with anyone. You're the 3rd goalie getting minimal practice reps in AHL. What do you do the other 22 hours of the day?

Some scouts think he might come back to North America eventually, but not in Orange after the way he was treated. The organization didn't do a good job with helping him learn English and he was isolated in a hotel. Per AHL source, Alexei Kolosov told #Flyers at the end of his stint w/ Lehigh Valley he did not want to return They put him in the hotel by himself & he felt isolated, especially since his English isn't great

For now, Kolosov is heading back to Dinamo Minsk in the KHL. It's disappointing to see him go, but we hope he continues to develop and maybe one day we'll see him back in the NHL. Keep an eye on this 21 year-old netminderhis journey is far from over.
