With an off-season that has been pretty quiet for the Penguins player wise, the organization has made some front office changes with promotes and additions.

The Penguins announced today a number of changes to their front office, highlighted by the hiring of Jonathan Erlichman, and the promotion of Jason Spezza.

Erlichman is coming off of 12 years with the MLB Tampa Bay Rays, most recently in the position of Vice President, Process and Analytics. According to the Penguins website, his prior roles with the Rays include Process and Analytics Coach (2019-23), Director of Analytics (2016-19), and Baseball Research and Development Analyst (2013-16).

The Toronto native graduated from Princeton in 2012. His job with the Penguins will include analysis of the Club's use of data and analytics in the player acquisition, player development and player evaluation processes. He will report directly to Kyle Dubas.

Kevin Elliott assumes the role of Head Athletic Trainer. Elliott has been a athletic trainer year-round for multiple hockey programs including the U-20 National Junior Team, the Men's Under-18 and Under-17 teams, as well as multiple World Championship teams and Team Canada's squad at the 2022 Olympic Games.

Jason Spezza will continue with his role as Assistant GM, but now will be the GM for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the Pens NHL affiliate.
