NHL insider David Pagnotta has revealed the Canadiens are ready to trade Christian Dvorak, and the rival Leafs popped up as a team that may want to act quickly. The name of Christian Dvorak has been on the NHL trade block for a long time, but nothing ever came to light. <a href='https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/toronto_maple_leafs_among_three_teams_targeting_a_center_as_christian_dvoraks_name_emerges/s1_17452_41441378#:~:text=Kirouac%2DImagn%20Images-,Toronto%20Maple%20Leafs%20Among%20Three%20Teams%20Targeting,as%20Christian%20Dvorak's%20Name%20Emerges&text=In%20light%20of%20new%20information,able%20to%20trade%20Christian%20Dvorak.' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Well, that may change very soon.

Several reports have indicated that more than a few NHL teams are in the market for a center, with the Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche said to be among those aggressively pursuing help in the middle. Meanwhile, according to David Pagnotta, the fire picks up as the Toronto Maple Leafs are seeking a center. In trying to strengthen their lineup, it would seem that the Leafs would be interested in trying to make a deal sooner rather than later.

The challenge? The market for centers is extremely thin right now. Yes, a name like Dylan Cozens would do the trick, but the price it would take to acquire the young Buffalo Sabres star is likely too steep to even consider. With Dylan Cozens therefore apparently ruled out, focus shifts toward one of the surprise teams carrying not one, but two, of the very limited options: the Montreal Canadiens. Also in the mix with Christian Dvorak will be Jake Evans for the Montreal Canadiens, though Dvorak is the more likely of the two to get moved. This feels like the perfect season for Canadiens GM Kent Hughes to finally trade Dvorak as teams run around trying to patch up their lineups. With the demand, considering the incredibly spare supply, it is not a left-field kind of thought that Dvorak may get dealt with in pretty short order. The focus now shifts to when and to who Dvorak will be traded to, as opposed to if.
