The perfected trade partner to land Mitch Marner emerged for the Toronto Maple Leafs according to a new report.

With the Leafs' general manager Brad Treliving saying that management will keep all doors opened related to making big changes in the organization this summer, fans are expecting major moves in the coming months. One of them could very well include their star player Mitch Marner.

Marner struggled in the playoffs and it looks like the last string has been pulled in his case.

Set to become a free agent after the next season, Marner would need to lift his no-trade clause, but at this point, it's just a formality.

What'll be more challenging for the Leafs will be to find the best possible trade partner.

According to our colleagues over at Maple Leafs Daily, the Philadelphia Flyers could be the perfect destination for Marner.

They discussed that scenario in a recent article. Here's what they wrote:

"A lot of teams in the NHL could use a game-breaking, playmaking, all-situations talent but perhaps none more than the Philadelphia Flyers. Currently in the process of rebuilding, the Flyers were in line to make the post-season for the first time since 2019-20 had it not been for an epic collapse at the end of the season that saw them lose 8 consecutive games and their grasp on the 3rd and final spot in the Metropolitan Division."

The Flyers could have many interesting assets for the Maple Leafs. At the blue line, a few prospects could fit in Toronto, such as Oliver Bonk, Emil Andrae or Helge Grans.

However, these players are all on entry-level contracts. in order to move Marner's $10.9M AAV contract, the Flyers would need to send a prominent player as well, and one of the best contenders would be Travis Konecny.

The Flyers' veteran has a year left on his $5.5M AAV contract, and will look for a well-deserved raise just as Marner becomes a free agent.
