It's a big win for the Vancouver Canucks as two of their all-time greats, Henrik and Daniel Sedin, are getting a well-deserved boost in their roles within the organization. According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Sedins have been informed that their responsibilities in the front office will be enhanced. #Canucks announce Yogi vejkovsk has been promoted to assistant coach. He spent the past two seasons as the team's skills coach and has been lauded for his systems knowledge. Yogi vejkovsk is also stepping up, earning a promotion to Canucks assistant coach. #Canucks Tocchet on how players gravitate to new assistant coach Yogi Svejkovsky: I watched the players around him. They go by my office and I'd go do you need me?' and they're like no we don't need you, we're looking for Yogi.' That impresses me.»

Canucks GM Patrik Allvin couldn't be happier about the Sedins' expanded roles, calling it hugely beneficial for the franchise. «Including the Sedins more in our day-to-day coaching duties will be hugely beneficial to our group both on and off the ice,» Allvin said. «Both Daniel and Henrik bring a very unique perspective and competitive mind set to our staff.» «Daniel and Henrik have also had a seat at the table and I have leaned on them more and more as the year went on. Their knowledge and ability to teach the game is a huge plus, and they fit in extremely well with our group.»

The legends bring a unique perspective and competitive mindset, with a wealth of knowledge and teaching ability. As for the twins, their legacy speaks for itself. Drafted together in 1998, they became synonymous with Canucks hockey over their 17-season career. Henrik's playmaking prowess led to 1,070 points, with 830 assists, while Daniel scored 393 times, amassing 1,041 points of his own. Now, their jerseys hang proudly in the rafters of Rogers Arena. After retiring, they transitioned into special advisors roles before making waves in Vancouver's player development department. It's a fitting roll for two legends who continue to leave their mark on the Canucks organization.
