The Stanley Cup finals are set to kick off this Saturday but most fans will just have to watch from home as ticket prices have been revealed and most are not happy about it. Fans have gone online to share their experiences with trying to get tickets to the games, especially the ones at Rodgers Place in Edmonton. One fan revealed that there were only two tickets available for game three that weren't resale, and those went for nearly 1500 bucks each. At the time of this post there are only 2 regular tickets ($1454 each in the Sportnet Lounge) available for Game 3 of the 2024 @NHL Stanley Cup Finals between the @FlaPanthers vs @EdmontonOilers at @RogersPlace on the 13th. All the rest that are available are Verified Resale /2

As the fan points out, the rest of the tickets that are available are resale only. The vast majority of these are likely from season ticket holders that got access to the tickets for much more reasonable prices. Most, if not all professional sports teams typically offer playoff tickets to their season ticket holders at discounted prices before they go on sale to the general public. Unfortunately, this does lead to some fans getting tickets and then trying to sell them back to the public at exuberant prices. Apparently some tickets are going for more than 7500 CAD. tickets (ranging from $1160 (upper level) to $7540 (lower bowl) each). My bucket list will continue to have «Attend a Stanley Cup Final game in person» on it and we will cheer them on from home infront if the tv 📺 #LetsGoOilers #OilersNation #LFG

Needless to say, your typical fan cannot afford that. Even for diehard fans, it would be tough to justify spending so much on tickets for a single game. Furthermore, most fans simply cannot afford it at all. Oilers Stanley Cup Playoff Tickets are insane !!! Well I guess they have a Billion Dollar New Arena to pay for 😂 Is it really worth 5k or more to watch your favourite Hockey TEAM play hockey live in the Stanley Cup Finals

It should be interesting to see what happens once the finals actually kick off. Will those tickets be sold, or will the fans trying to flip them simply attend the game themselves. Could there potentially even be empty seats? We will just have to wait to find out.
