Today another voice has been added in discussing the J.T. Miller drama as former Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau has spoken up. Earlier this week Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford opened up about the ongoing situation involving J.T. Miller. After Rutherford addressed the media many expected the speculation and discussion around this issue to start to calm down. Instead, the discussion has continued and now added even more voices into the fold today as former Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau has spoken out. Boudreau was with the Canucks from 2021 to 2023 and coached both Miller and Pettersson while they were together in Vancouver. Today he decided to add some much-needed context about how long this feud between Miller and Pettersson has been going.
Boudreau confirms J.T. Miller and Elias Petterson's issues date back years
In a new interview with TSN's OverDrive Show, Boudreau discussed the situation in Vancouver and his experience dealing with Miller and Pettersson. According to Boudreau, both players have had friction with one another dating back to when Boudreau first took over the Canucks in 2021. The easy [thing] would be to say yes, it is a problem and I knew they had a little bit of a problem between them before I got there but I thought that was all straightened out, said Boudreau on TSN's OverDrive. Clearly whatever problems have been going on for years now between Miller and Pettersson have not been cleared up as they continue to disagree and reportedly not like one another. Even Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal confirmed that the situation surrounding Miller and Petterson is not fabricated or overblown like the Canucks claim it is. There were issues with Miller and Pettersson. This isn't the media making it up stop with that narrative. - Rick Dhaliwal

As the season continues the Canucks will need to straighten out their chemistry if they want to make a deep Stanley Cup run every player will need to agree to put their differences aside and move forward. If they cannot move forward there could be major changes coming to Vancouver incredibly soon.
