Today a new interview with a former Vancouver Canucks forward has revealed that he tried to get Patrik Allvin to settle J.T. Miller down several years ago.

The feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson was finally solved when Miller was traded to the New York Rangers.

Since the trade, more has come out regarding all of the issues between Miler and Pettersson, which has added context to their problems and how long those issues have been going on.

Today a new interview with former Canucks forward Brad Richardson has provided further context about how long this feud went on and he admits that he urged Patrik Allvin to solve the problems before they got out of hand.

Former Canuck Confirms He Tried To Warn Patrik Allvin About J.T. Miller

During an appearance on the Missin Curfew Podcast former Canuck Brad Richardson spoke once again about the situation between Miller and Pettersson.

Last time Richardson spoke spoke he confirmed that Miller had always been too hard on Pettersson and that he tried to get Miller to lighten up.

Today Richardson took things a step further and revealed that once he could not get Miller to change his ways the Canucks veteran decided to go to Allvin to try and resolve things.

I told them this in my exit meeting. You've got to surround J.T. Miller with veteran players or you're going to be screwed. If you get him dialed in he's a great player but he needs veteran guys around him or it gets squirrely.

Richardson then went on to call out the Canucks current leadership group saying that of the forwards currently on the team there are no true leaders beyond potentially Conor Garland that could keep Miller in check.

The best leader up front on their team is Conor Garland. He's the best leader on their team that I know. There are no Patrick Maroons or Corey Perrys who can really settle the room down.

With this now out there it seems that this situation getting out of hand is just as much on Allvin and the front office as it is on the players for not fixing things between themselves.

If Allvin and the Canucks knew a strong leadership group was needed around Miller they clearly did not act quickly and decisively enough to make that happen before things went from bad to irrepairable.

Hopefully, with this terrible situation behind them, Allvin and the Canucks have learned from their mistakes and can move forward without further issues.

Do you think Patrik Allvin and the front office should be taking more of the blame for the J.T. Miller situation?
