Last night was one to remember for Oilers fans and Connor McDavid, and following the game, comments were made that completely embarrassed two former Oilers. Tuesday night's overtime thrill ride began on Edmonton's blue line. St. Louis' Robert Thomas skated in, attempting to skate through Evan Bouchard. But the often criticized blueliner showed off a sharp move, taking the puck off Thomas and sending it out to neutral ice. With no alternative but to dump it in, the Blues then saw it chugged back in by Bouchard from their own blueline. Jumpstarting the counterattack, Bouchard moved through the zone, testing Jake Neighbours, and former Oilers Dylan Holloway, and Philip Broberg. As Connor Brown crashed towards the crease, a pass came in to him courtesy of Bouchard, and a highlight-reel chance ensued.
McDavid turns Holloway and Broberg inside out on the ice
Dropping a move for the ages, Connor McDavid beat Holloway inside out and took down Broberg with a move before sending a pretty backhand pass to Brown. The winger buried a career first-ever overtime winner, earning a heart-pounding comeback win.

Ironically, McDavid's victims included both Holloway and Broberg, both St. Louis offer sheet signees Edmonton refused to sign. Holloway has generated 39 points in 54 games, and Broberg added 15 in 41, despite a preceding issue with a knee.
Connor Brown embarrassed Holloway and Broberg with comments
Not only did McDavid completely embarrass the former Oilers on the ice, but his teammate Brown did so as well with comments he made in his post-game interview. «I just tried to get open and it worked,» Brown told Sportsnet's Mark Spector after the game. «So, yeah, that was a nice little treat for me.» Holloway confessed in an episode of WhatChaos! podcast later that offseason that moves in Edmonton questioned him about a future role with the team. For the Oilers, though, Tuesday's win mattered more than past narratives, as it placed them at the top of the Pacific Division. With ailing Vegas, Edmonton looks to capitalize off its momentum in Chicago, its next contest, on Wednesday.
