Tonight a new report is confirming that a former Vancouver Canucks forward has landed himself in pretty serious legal trouble.

Earlier this month, former Canucks enforcer Donald Brashear was arrested on serious charges.

Now tonight another former Canuck has found himself on the wrong side of the law.

According to a report from The Chilliwack Express former Canucks forward Aaron Volpatti is being sued by the city of Vernon, British Columbia.

Former Canuck Faces Major Lawsuit

According to the report from the Express Volpatti is being sued for unpaid parking tickets.

According to court documents filed on Feb. 24, Aaron Volpatti racked up 13 unpaid tickets between November 2023 and December 2024, and owes the city $650.

Now Volpatti will have to defend himself in court to avoid the hefty fine from the city.

During his time with the Canucks, Volpatti played three seasons and 60 total games for the Canucks after signing on as a undrafted free agent.

After ending his time in Vancouver Volpatti would also go on to play for the Washington Capitals as a depth forward and eventual veteran leader in the AHL.

He then retired from the game after the 2015 and has not been in hockey since then.

Despite having a relatively successful career for an undrafted player it seems Volpatti has now fallen on hard times due to this lawsuit from the city of Vernon.

One has to wonder what happened with Volpatti to lead him not to pay over 600 dollars in parking tickets leading to this likely even more expensive legal process.

As more news comes out around this developing legal story we will pass along the latest news to you.
