NHL insider Frank Seravalli has doubled down and reaffirmed his stance, that Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy is once again one of the NHL's top trade targets.

The Vancouver Canucks put Carson Soucy on the market earlier this month, but nothing has happened to this point.

Despite some adversity in early-season healthy scratches, Vancouver's 30-year-old defenceman has cemented himself in a third-pairing role in Vancouver.

Enhanced performance has put him in consideration to be traded, and his value has been increased even further.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli has ranked Soucy in his top 10 in his list of potential trade destinations, agreeing once again to his initial list from earlier this month.

"Vancouver sent all 31 clubs a memo on Feb. 3 notifying them that Soucy was available. One issue: Soucy has a full 'no-trade' clause. Uninterested in leaving posthaste, Soucy decided that he wanted to take a couple weeks to try and get his game in order in Vancouver and see if he could rebound from what he admitted has been a tough year," said Seravalli. "Then the 4 Nations break hit. Soucy can see the writing on the wall and a healthy scratch on the horizon, and he wants to play. He's a super attractive trade chip if the Canucks retain salary."

Soucy is the third defenseman listed on Seravalli's trade board

On Seravalli's top 45 potential trade target rankings, only defensemen Seth Jones in Chicago and defensemen Bowen Byram in Buffalo rank above Soucy, while Mario Ferraro, Jamie Oleksiak, and Rasmus Ristolainen rank below him.

Soucy is entering his second year in his three-year, $9.75M contract, making his cap number attractive to defense-seeking squads.

How his market value is perceived is not known, but with additions over the past weeks in Elias Pettersson, Marcus Pettersson, and Victor Mancini, Vancouver can bid goodbye to Soucy in order to leave wiggle room to chase other requirements, such as signing Brock Boeser, another priority player in Seravalli's top ten trade list.

The 6-foot-5 defenseman Soucy has notched seven helpers and two goals, for nine points in 57 games this season.
