Vancouver Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov threw shade at the city of Edmonton and Oilers fans in the media following the Canucks overtime loss to the Oilers in the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Zadorov mentioned that the city is fun to play in and they have great diehard fans, but he took a shot at the city of Edmonton saying they have nothing else to do except watch hockey.

Some of the fan responses are incredibly hilarious on X (formerly Twitter) from fans who live in the city of Edmonton.

Did someone forget to tell Nikita Zadorov where he's playing? Canada lives and breathes hockey, of course, they're going to be diehard fans in a city where they treat youth hockey regular season games like game seven of the Stanley Cup Final.

All joking aside, you love to see the friendly shade and personality of hockey players in a manner like this. Zadorov is clearly comfortable joking with fans of any team and city he plays in and could likely be a fan favourite wherever he ends up.

Zadorov has been an animal for the Vancouver Canucks scoring multiple goals and assists and being physically dominant for the team. It is likely the fans give him some friendly banter back during games three and four of the series being played in Edmonton.
