A new report from NHL insider David Pagnotta has revealed that several GMs were seen scouting the Vancouver Canucks organization as trade speculation builds. Earlier this week NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Vancouver Canucks were open to trading J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson to resolve their locker room conflict. With the Vancouver Canucks open for business when it comes to trading their stars it now seems that teams are beginning to circle and a new list of potential favorite landing spots can be put together. A report from insider David Pagnotta revealed that three NHL General Managers were spotted scouting a game in the AHL between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Laval Rocket. According to Pagnotta Pittsburgh Penguins GM Kyle Dubas, Utah HC GM Bill Armstrong, and Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney all were in attendance. Of course, the Abbotsford Canucks are the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks while the Laval Rocket are the affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.

Having an NHL General Manager scouting a specific game is not unheard of but having three at one singular game is unusual for sure.
Teams begin circling to pry J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson away from the Canucks
With this news now reported by Pagnotta, it means that teams clearly believe a trade is possible with either the Vancouver Canucks or the Montreal Canadiens. In light of recent events with the Canucks the Penguins, Utah Hockey Club, and Bruins are likely all going to make a serious run at landing Pettersson or Miller. Last season the Bruins were linked to Pettersson at one point around the NHL Trade Deadline and will now be in the mix again going forward. With the NHL Trade Deadline still a couple of months away there is still plenty of time for this situation to develop. As the deadline gets closer it will be interesting to see if we hear of a bidding war between interested teams to trade with the Canucks or if things remain close to the vest.
