With the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs coming to an end, the Stars beat the Golden Knights in game 7 sparking some controversy in Vegas. Golden Knights' captain, Mark Stone, talked to the media after their loss to the Dallas Stars in game 7 and was not happy with the performance of his team in the regular season. This is what he had to say about the regular season, We felt like we definitely had a team that had a chance to go on a long run... Probably would have been better off putting ourselves in a better position in the regular season. Never easy coming in as the 8-seed and trying to beat all the top teams at the start.

Coming out of this season, Vegas will have some very tough decisions to make in resigning certain players for next season. Players like Chandler Stephenson, Johnathon Marchessault, and defenseman Alec Martinez are all pending unrestricted free agents this summer. Marchessault will be 34 years old in December. He is coming off of his first 40 goal season after winning the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe award last season. This leaves everyone wondering if Marchessault will be a Golden Knight come October.
