The Usports playoffs are currently underway, and a recent game saw tensions escalate to the point where one team refused to engage in the customary handshake at the end of the match. A remarkable incident took place during a semifinal game between the University of Alberta and the University of Prince Edward Island (PEI).

At the conclusion of the game, the University of Alberta refused to shake hands with their opponents.

The situation arose when the University of Alberta's goaltender was punched in the face while their team held a 4-0 lead.

As a consequence, Alberta chose not to engage in the post-game handshake with PEI. In response, the UPEI crowd booed Alberta off the ice and threw debris onto the rink.

Both viewpoints in this argument can be understood. The handshake at the end of a game symbolizes respect and sportsmanship, and it's evident that Alberta felt disrespected by PEI's actions. Attacking a goaltender while trailing by four goals clearly demonstrates a lack of respect and sportsmanship. Nonetheless, one can also appreciate PEI's perspective, recognizing that emotions can run high during playoff games, particularly in the semifinals.

Ultimately, Alberta had the final say in this match, securing a 4-1 victory and advancing to the championship game.
