It's no secret that the Habs have too many forwards, especially centers. It's still a happy problem, because a center can play on the wing, but with 15 forwards under contract, it becomes a problem. Conversely, the Bruins are short on centers, and aside from Pavel Zacha, none of them are worthy of a top-6 spot. Charlie Coyle, Morgan Geekie and Patrick Brown aren't known for being very offensive. What's more, none of them is dominant in the face-off circle. Journalist Josh Wegman has targeted potential centers to join the Bruins, who will need them badly. However, with limited space under the salary cap, players like Mark Scheifele or Elias Lindholm aren't very realistic. That's why Christian Dvorak's name is at the very top of his list. Dvorak earns less than 5 million for two more years, is a good face-off man and can rack up points more easily than Coyle or Geekie. Of course, Dvorak would never replace Bergeron or Krejci, but he could bring additional stability to their center line. What's more, as things stand, Kent Hughes' demands would certainly not be very high, as he is keen to get rid of certain contracts.

5 centers Bruins could target via trade to help replace Bergeron https://t.co/2RoemnRguG pic.twitter.com/rki6IfMOo3- theScore NHL (@theScoreNHL) July 26, 2023
 Credit: DLC
