In the category of most amazing radio moments, we witnessed something pretty intense on BPM Sports.

As you probably already know, the 2023 draft is a pretty spectacular one in terms of overall talent, especially in the first round. Some pundits are calling it the best prospect draft since the phenomenal year of 2015.

While the topic was in the discussion on the Jean-Charles Lajoie show, we learned of what could be described as a disastrous statement involving Juraj Slafkovsky, the first overall pick in the 2022 one.

In connection with the fact that the Habs lost a draft position yesterday in a win over the Washington Capitals, combined with a ninth straight loss to the Arizona Coyotes, Lajoie said that by having a top-10 pick, the Tricolore has an excellent chance of adding a talented young player to their organization.

To support his point, Lajoie said that a very knowledgeable source told him that Slafkovsky would most likely not be a top-10 pick this year if he were available in 2023.

So far, it's a debatable argument, although I don't agree with it. However, Lajoie takes it a step further with a second statement, and this one just doesn't pass muster.

"He told me he's not even sure Slafkovsky would be a first-round pick in 2023." - Jean-Charles Lajoie

Quite frankly, I've never heard something so ridiculous. Clearly, this anonymous JiC source is not a fan of the great Slovak, and he proved it with a completely outlandish statement.

On the one hand, fans can rejoice that the Montreal organization will add another top prospect next June, but to say that the CH's number 20 wouldn't even be ranked in the first round proves the incompetence of his source.

Remember that if the picture remains as is, the Habs will select at #6, assuming no team behind them wins the lottery.
